Additionally Voidform causes your character to float, and taking damage will not remove this levitation unlike with Levitate. Voidform keeps the aesthetics of Shadowform but makes it slightly more black.
This effect also extends to mounts and looks particularly cool on celestial mounts.
Shadowform buffs all spell damage you deal as well as adding a dark purple aura around your character.
Thematically, Shadow Priests also have access to Shadowform and Voidform. If you don't kill the target, it will deal damage to you, so make sure you don't accidently kill yourself with it. This is useful to break out of snares on yourself or to deal a lot of damage to a target below 20% health. Priests have a unique spell in Shadow Word: Death, which serves as an execute that will also damage the Priest. they also have Mass Dispel, which has a hefty mana cost but brings good utility to your group as it works on both friendly and enemy units simultaneously. Priests also have the capability to pull a friendly target to their location through Leap of Faith, commonly referred to as Life Grip. While it's mostly useless in PvE outside of niche scenarios, it has quite a few uses in PvP situations. Shadow does struggle with mobility, but this can be circumvented by using instant cast spells while moving and pre-placing in an optimal position if you know you're going to need to move ahead of time.Īs part of the Priest class, Shadow Priests have access to a unique spell, Mind Control. Shadow Priests mainly deal their damage at range and excel in multi-DoT situations on spread or stacked AoE. Insanity can be spent by casting Devouring Plague or Searing Nightmare (while channeling Mind Sear and talented into it). Shadow uses a resource called Insanity, which is gained by casting the majority of Shadow's spells, such as Mind Blast and Mind Flay. Shadow Priests draw their power from the void and deal damage through the use of damage over time effects (DoTs) such as Shadow Word: Pain, Vampiric Touch, and Devouring Plague. Outside of WoW, I spend most of my time listening to music, especially seeking out interesting new things I haven't heard before! I raid in The Misty Moon on EU Tarren-Mill (Formerly The Misty Moon Massive) and have raided between top 50 and 300 since Legion but I've been playing Shadow Priest in some capacity for going on 14 years.
